Cyrus Walker is the Founder and Managing Principal of Data Defenders, a Cybersecurity company providing products and managed services to local and state governments and SMBs to help address the challenges of implementing and managing cybersecurity operations. Data Defenders’ mission is to help these and other markets overcome the challenges of managing a comprehensive cybersecurity operation that translates into continuous and persistent vulnerabilities. He is an internationally recognized and published expert on electronic voting security and high-speed network design.
Cyrus pioneered the concept of Applied Computer Forensics™ and related forensic analysis models and processes that Data Defenders are now using to aid election jurisdictions in protecting the operational integrity of their electronic voting systems. Cyrus also served as a subject matter expert on Cyber Terrorism Defense and Incident Management at the University of Arkansas’ Cyber Defense Analysis Center (CDAC) funded and directed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. There, he trained over 5000 federal, state and, local law enforcement professionals from various agencies across the U.S. Cyrus served as Department Chair of Computer Security and Computer Forensics Department at Wilbur Wright College—a City Colleges of Chicago. He has been a regular contributor on CNN, FOX, Bloomberg, ABC, and CBS networks focusing on cybersecurity and terrorism related events.
