Previously Mr. Johnston worked in the private sector as a principal consultant at CrowdStrike, Inc as an incident response expert conducting engagements against nation state, criminal, and hacktivist organizations across a variety of industry sectors. Previously Mr. Johnston served as the Director for U.S. Marine Red Team.

Previously Mr. Johnston worked in the private sector as a principal consultant at CrowdStrike, Inc as an incident response expert conducting engagements against nation state, criminal, and hacktivist organizations across a variety of industry sectors.

Previously Mr. Johnston served  as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. As a Marine Officer he was the Team Lead of 81 National Cyber Protection Team, Cyber National Mission Force and the Director of the Marine Corps Red Team.  He is an accomplished leader and technical expert within the cyber security community. Mr. Johnston is a 2008 United States Naval Academy graduate with a degree in Information Technology.  

He has published multiple projects and articles in industry relevant magazines and peer reviewed journals. An avid speaker within the cyber security community ISC2 awarded him runner up for the best up-and-coming cyber security professional in North, Central, and South America and the winner of the 2015 Community Awareness Government Information Security Leadership Award. Timothy Evans, J.D., LL.M.

Co-Founder, Senior Vice President & Chief of Strategy

Colonel Evans (Ret) commanded the 175th Network Warfare Squadron at the National Security Agency (NSA) for six years.  Additionally, he represented NSA  as a member of the White House National Security Council Sub-Interagency Policy Committee on both offensive and defense cybersecurity issues.

Tim Evans co-founded Adlumin, a cybersecurity software development company in 2016.  Prior to that, Tim was the Senior Advisor, Cyber Strategy & Policy, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.  Colonel Evans (Ret) commanded the 175th Network Warfare Squadron at the National Security Agency (NSA) for six years.  He spent two and ½ years representing NSA on the White House National Security Council Sub-Interagency Policy Committee on both offensive and defense cybersecurity issues.  While Commander, he served as the Director of Operational Policy, Tailored Access Operations (TAO) (2008 to 2012) and Senior Adviser, NSA Threat Operations Centers (NTOC) (2006-2008).  He currently serves on the George Washington University Active Defense Task Force.

Prior to that, then Major Evans spent fourteen years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He served with the Western Area Counsel Office (WACO), Navy Office of the General Counsel for six years as litigation counsel.  As a Marine Corps Captain, he spent two years as the Commanding Officer, Headquarters and Service (H&S) Company, H&S Battalion, at Camp Pendleton, California during Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield.

Tim is married, has a nine year old son and lives in Arlington, Virginia.  He has completed ten (10) Marine Corps Marathons.

Jody A. Ruth, CPA, CGMA

Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Ruth has served as Adlumin’s Chief Financial Officer since its inception in 2016.  She is a member of the leadership team and focuses on matters including pricing strategy, business development, growth assumptions and forecasting, customer lifetime value, and valuations and is responsible for all financial matters and internal controls.

Ms. Ruth has served as Adlumin’s Chief Financial Officer since its inception in 2016.  She is a member of the leadership team and focuses on matters including pricing strategy, business development, growth assumptions and forecasting, customer lifetime value, and valuations and is responsible for all financial matters and internal controls.

She is the founder of Redstones LLC and its spin off, AccuMetrics LLC, consulting firms working with start ups to Fortune 50 companies.  Projects focus on M&A support, litigation support, forecasting, raising debt and equity, pricing and customer lifetime value analyses, as well as financial operations.

Previously she held senior operating or finance roles with AOL, GTE Wireless, GTE, and Trans World Airlines and prior to that was a leader in KPMG’s air transportation practice as well as running the computer audit group in KPMG’s Washington, DC and Phoenix offices.  She was instrumental in billions of dollars of M&A transactions (both buy and sell side) as well as billions of dollars of debt and equity raises as well as innovative financing transactions.

She is a mentor at Mach 37 Cybersecurity Accelerator and speaks regularly on M&A activity and how to increase business value.

Ms. Ruth is an NACD Governance Fellow and a CPA in Virginia and Pennsylvania.  She is on the membership committee of the Washington Capital chapter of Association of Corporate Growth.

Dan Mica

Dan Mica is a five-term member of Congress representing Florida from 1979 to 1989 in the U.S. House of Representatives. During that time he made his mark in public service as a bipartisan consensus builder.  After leaving Congress, Mica served as EVP of the American Council of Life Insurance until becoming President and CEO of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).

Gene Fredriksen is the Chief Security Strategist for PSCU.  In this role, he is responsible for the development of information protection and technology strategies and outreach programs for the company. Gene has over thirty-five years of Information Technology experience, with the last thirty focused specifically in the area of Information Security. 

Lieutenant General Mark Bowman serves as Director, Command, Control, Communications and Computers/Cyber.

General Bowman (Ret) pioneered the introduction of new technologies and drove positive change throughout his 38 year career in the U.S. Army culminating with significant positions including CIO/J6, USCENTCOM, Director of Architecture, Networks, Operations, and Space, Department of the Army, and finally as CIO/J6, Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Dan Mica is the President of Daniel A. Mica, LLC, a firm providing government affairs, advocacy, strategic planning, and management consulting services to a variety of industries.

A five-term member of Congress, Mica represented his home state Florida from 1979 to 1989 in the U.S. House of Representatives. During that time he made his mark in public service as a bipartisan consensus builder. He served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Select Committee on Aging, and Veteran’s Affairs Committee. He also served in the House leadership as deputy whip and was a member of the U.S. Secretary of State’s Commission on Terrorism.  For a decade prior to taking office, Mica served as Chief of Staff for his predecessor, Rep. Paul G. Rogers CD-FL), who served as Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health.

In 1991, President Bush appointed Mica to serve on the Board for International Broadcasting. In 1993, he was appointed by President Clinton to serve as Chairman of the Board of Radio Free Europe/ Radio Liberty.

After leaving Congress in 1989, Mica served as executive vice president at the American Council of Life Insurance until becoming President and CEO of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) in 1996.

Under Mica’s leadership, CUNA became one of most highly respected and influential associations in Washington. In 2010 Mica was personally named by The Hill Newspaper as one of the top advocates in the nation’s capital. He is often quoted by major national publications and broadcasts for his views on financial services and political issues. Over the years, Mica has served on numerous boards and committees and is currently Chairman of the Board of the Congressional Management Foundation.

Gene Fredriksen

Gene Fredriksen is the Chief Security Strategist for PSCU.  In this role, he is responsible for the development of information protection and technology strategies and outreach programs for the company. Gene has over thirty-five years of Information Technology experience, with the last thirty focused specifically in the area of Information Security. In this capacity, he has been heavily involved with all areas of Audit and Security.  He is a Distinguished Fellow for the Global Institute for Cyber Security and Research, headquartered at the Kennedy Space Center.  The Institute is a partner with the Department of Homeland Security, other agencies, academia, private industry and organizations focusing on the advancement of Cyber Security.  

In 2007 and 2015 Gene was named one of the Top Three Security executives in the US.  In October 2015 he was named the CISO of the Year by The Tampa Bay Technology Forum

Immediately prior to his current role, Gene held the positions of Global CISO for Tyco International, Principal Consultant for Security and Risk Management Strategies for Burton Group and Vice President of Technology Risk Management and Chief Security Officer for Raymond James Financial.  

He served as the Chair and member of multiple Government working committees including the Security and Risk Assessment Steering Committee for BITS, and Financial Services Sector Steering Committee of the Department of Homeland Security.  Gene is a member of the SC Magazine Editorial Advisory Board, and the Forbes Technology Council.  He has published numerous papers and books, the latest book, “The CISO Journey” was released in March 2017.  He is on the Board of two organizations and a formal advisor to the Board of three privately held companies.  He is a Distinguished Fellow with the Global Institute for Cybersecurity and Research.

Gene is the CEO and Executive Director for the National Credit Union – Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (NCU-ISAO).  The organization is a not for profit entity dedicated to the sharing and analysis of Cyber and Operational Intelligence specific to the Credit Union Sector. www.NCUISAO.org

Mark S. Bowman LTG, USA (Ret)

General Bowman (Ret) pioneered the introduction of new technologies and drove positive change throughout his 38 year career in the U.S. Army culminating with significant positions including CIO/J6, USCENTCOM, Director of Architecture, Networks, Operations, and Space, Department of the Army, and finally as CIO/J6, Joint Chiefs of Staff. 

Using extra-ordinary leadership and team building skills, Bowman refused to just manage the status quo.  Instead, he pioneered the introduction of new technologies and drove positive change throughout his 38 year career in the U.S. Army culminating with significant positions including CIO/J6, USCENTCOM, Director of Architecture, Networks, Operations, and Space, Department of the Army, and finally as CIO/J6, Joint Chiefs of Staff.  In each these positions, he was the driving force behind the moves to Thin/Zero Client, Enterprise Email, Reliable Secure Mobile VOIP Phones, Push-to-Talk Satellite Phones, Effective End-Point Management, and many other significant efforts.  His efforts saved tens of millions of dollars and dramatically increased security while providing the users better service and increased capabilities.

Since retiring from the Army, he sits on several Boards helping companies to identify, meet and in many cases exceed their goals.  He is also an accomplished speaker, who speaks frequently on the subjects of Leadership, IT Innovation, IT Security, and Cyber.
